Audience: FaultFixers Admins. How to manage & edit buildings. We also explain how to assign or remove buildings for users.

Updated over a week ago

1. Create a Building

Buildings can be created by going to the left-hand side menu of FaultFixers Web. Navigate to the "Buildings" tab, and go to "Add Building" to create a new site. Once you've completed the details, don't forget to press "Save".

You can also modify the details of existing buildings as shown below. You can also modify the building's address, and name, as well as the main point of contact's details. Remember to hit 'save' to make the changes.

2. Assign a Building to a user

Each user will have access to Buildings that have been specifically selected for them. To assign a building to a user, head over to Team > Rights. Select the Buildings you want the team member to have access to.

If a user is receiving notifications from other buildings, this can be managed on the Rightsย  (Permissions) view. Users will not be able to see information related to buildings that they have not been assigned to. You can find more details on how to manage user permissions here.

3. Create your Locations

Locations are areas within your Buildings. They can be set as shared spaces, such as "Groundfloor" or as specific rooms if you want a more detailed level, such as:

  • Kitchen (2nd floor)

  • Bedroom 24 (1st floor)

  • Lounge (Groundfloor)

  • Staff Dining Room

This is very useful, especially for the creation of PPMs, which are often related to specific areas within a Building, and there will also be more information when people report issues.
